Founder

Dr. Simon Annan is the Founder of the Simon Annan Foundation. For more than 25 years, his work has centred on building the capacity of people and institutions.

A respected procurement and supply chain professional, Dr. Annan is the Chief Executive Officer of SourceOne Management Services. His experience spans construction, telecommunications, aviation, media, fast-moving consumer goods, and the public and private sectors. He has designed and facilitated leadership, personal effectiveness and organisational capacity building programmes for institutions across Ghana and the West African sub-region, and serves as an independent advisor to multinational and regional companies.

The Foundation formalises and extends the charitable work he carried out personally for years — school fees, an orphanage and a community borehole — and puts it on an accountable footing so that support can be sustained across a child's whole education.

“He brings to the Foundation the same integrity, accountability and pursuit of excellence that have defined his professional career, now directed towards transforming lives and communities.”

Board of Trustees

The Board sets the Foundation's strategy, safeguards its funds and holds the organisation to the outcomes it publishes. Trustees serve in a voluntary capacity and are drawn from procurement, administration, ministry and community leadership.

Every trustee and patron has a profile page. Where a full biography is still being prepared, the Foundation publishes the name, role and portrait rather than leave the seat unfilled.

Patrons

Distinguished Patrons lend their name, counsel and network to the Foundation's work. They carry its mission into rooms the Board cannot always reach.

How we govern

The Foundation exists to hold money and promises in trust. Its governance arrangements are what make that trust defensible — to a donor asking where their cedi went, and to a family asking whether the support will continue.

Stewardship

The Board holds the Foundation's mission and resources in trust. It approves strategy, budgets and major commitments so that every cedi given is used for the purpose it was given.

Accountability

Decisions are recorded, spending is reported and outcomes are published. The Board reviews progress against the Foundation's milestones and answers to donors and beneficiaries alike.

Integrity

Trustees declare conflicts of interest, keep personal and institutional interests separate, and apply to themselves the standards they expect of the Foundation.
